Santa Ana, Orange County
The Santa Ana Zoo opened in 1952 in Prentice Park on land given by Joseph Prentice, who asked that the zoo always keep at least fifty monkeys. It still does. Closer to the center of Santa Ana, the blocks around Fourth Street hold brick storefronts from the early 1900s and the galleries of the Artists Village.
